Celebrating Equitable Futures Week
From April 1-7, 2019, communities and groups around the world developed local images of a more equitable future, creating the building blocks that can lead to real change and to help challenge dominant ideas around what kind of society is possible.
Equitable Futures Week was a week of globally distributed social reimagining produced by IFTF and supported by Blue Shield of California Foundation. Download the toolkit and organize a local visioning + action session to uncover new social fictions and move toward local impact.

2018 Fellows Project: A Toolkit for Creating a More Equitable Future
The Institute for the Future (IFTF) is tackling the super-wicked problem of global inequality with a new Equitable Futures Toolkit for community groups, policymakers, and futurists. The toolkit forms the centerpiece of a week-long sprint to reinvent our economic systems with new visions and anticipatory policies that can build a more livable future for everyone.
“Any future-ready solution needs to start with systematic futures thinking,” says toolkit author Tessa Finlev. “Only when we’ve explored a range of future possibilities and worked across sectors and their stakeholders to anticipate the unexpected and interlocking consequences of these possible futures are we ready to start designing for equity.”
