Knowledge Mobilization in 2032:
Building future-ready professional education networks

Global disruptions have changed how we access professional development information. Keeping up with traditional methods of creating and sharing knowledge has become more challenging, and Covid-19 prevented us from solving problems together.

The pandemic also led to the loss of traditional support systems in the education sector. Educators faced multiple challenges at once, including distance learning, culture wars, and mental health issues.

Knowledge mobilization must change if it is to succeed in the future.

This report explores how professionals in the coming decade will access knowledge and how professional networks can support their members through new methods of evaluating, personalizing, and delivering that information. Although this report is aimed at education professionals, any organization that shares and mobilizes knowledge can benefit from the associated scenarios and toolkit.

This custom forecast report and toolkit, Knowledge Mobilization in 2032, was produced by Institute for the Future (IFTF) and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The views expressed are those of the author(s) and should not be attributed to the foundation.
