Wall St Journal: Internet Visits With Doctors Can Beat Office Appointments
In an article in the Wall Street Journal, a "small town doctor who still makes house calls" makes the case that online medical appointments can be more efficient as well as more efficacious in some cases than traditional in-person office visits. Dr. Benjamin Brewer estimates that at least 20% of office visits could be handled as well or better through online communications. The big barriers is uncertainty about reimbursement and legality of prescribing drugs without an in-person exam.
