The world's most pessimistically-named science park?
Contrast the glittery language of Biopolis or Phase Z.Ro with Oxford's science park, Begbroke.
Though it's probably the only science park that can confidently trace its history back to the Domesday Book.
Funny name aside, it's one of the linchpins in Oxford's attempt to support science faculty and students who want to become entrepreneurs. There's a Science Enterprise Centre in the business school, devoted to teaching scientists how to start companies and be entrepeneurial; a company devoted to licensing and supporting startups; and a second science park, a joint venture between Magdalen College and Prudential.
