About a year ago when I was contemplating moving to California, I envisioned a new kind of housing - basically a framework that you could bolt on standard truck container-sized housing units. When you want to move, you have your apartment lifted off the stack, put on a truck and shipped to your new city.

 

Well, this isn't quite there yet, but it's getting close. DoortoDoor.com will drop off a locked self-stoage container in your driveway and ship it or store it just about anywhere in the country.
