Stanford's Texting4Health Conference
The Health Horizons Program is sponsoring the upcoming Texting4Health conference, February 28th-March 1st, 2008, at Stanford University. Texting4Health will highlight applications, ideas, and insights on using mobile text messaging (SMS) to improve personal and public health.
The conference is being hosted by Dr. BJ Fogg, the director of research and design at Stanford University's Persuasive Technology Lab. His work focuses primarily on investigating how mobile phones can be platforms for persuasion. In 2007, the Persuasive Technology Lab organized the first Mobile Persuasion conference and almost 300 people attended. This year, Dr. Fogg and his committee of experts (including Richard Adler and Rachel Maguire from IFTF) have organized a conference focused specifically on how SMS can improve health behavior. IFTF’s Jason Tester will be speaking on the future of texting.
Joining IFTF as event sponsors are the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Heart, Association, the Stanford Center on Longevity, Smart Reply, and Qualcomm.
Non-profit organizations receive a 35% discount on registrations but must be completed by February 13th. All registration ends February 22nd.
