Sony's phototagging GPS fob
"
Sony just announced a tiny and relatively inexpensive GPS receiver in a keychain form factor. The GPS-CS1, retailing for $150, is designed to automatically stamp photos and video with your location. The device doesn't interface directly with your camera but simply tracks your location as you move about. Later, you load the GPS logs into your laptop and download any digital images you've taken. The included software then matches the time-stamped images with your location history and places the pictures on a map. Of course, techniques to location-stamp photos are old news in the DIY space, but this brings another little slice of location-enhanced computing to the masses. And, of course, I also look forward to the geohackers going to town with the GPS-CS1.
