Navigating Tradition and Innovation for the Future of Food
On June 22, a team of researchers from IFTF's Food Futures Lab traveled from Silicon Valley to Italy to launch our 2015 research on the ingredients for food innovation.
From our expert workshop with local stakeholders to meeting the world at the 2015 World's Fair, Expo Milano: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, we set out with a set of research questions that will continue to unfold as we develop our research for the year.
- What local constraints and opportunities inspire creativity?
- How can we harness the artistry, technology, and culinary legacy of regions around the world to impact change?
- What accelerates food innovation, and what are the barriers?
- What are our hopes, fears, and aspirations for the future globally and at home?
Below is a summary of our weeklong research launch, packed with inspiring immersions, conversations, and tastes of the future.
