- Technology Review published a survey that argues that while research labs were focused on ubiquitous computing, what we've built for ourselves is "continuous computing", a patchy array of social web applications and Wi-Fi hotspots that are transforming the way we meet and do work.
- The Korea Times (7/22/05) reports that free mobile broadcasting service will begin in Seoul later this year, with a national deployment nationwide in 2006. "The service, called terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), enables people on the road to enjoy crystal-clear video, theater-like audio and receive data via handheld devices." Satellite DMB began last year, but requires a flat monthly subscription. Yet analysts are worried about the prospects for mobile TV in the US.
