India develops expertise in lightweight wearable medical devices
With relatively cheaper labor and electricity, as well as one of the world's largest mobile device markets, India is becoming a place to watch for the development, production, and use of wearable medical devices like the world's smallest wearable cardiac monitor.
Medtronic recently opened a therapy and procedure training center in India, and The Lancet has said that by 2010, 60 percent of the world's heart patients will be in India.
