IFTF Mentor Minds: USA Pavilion Series on Innovation
IFTF's network of practical visionaries and futures thinkers is shaping the global conversation about food innovation with the USA Pavilion at Expo Milano, the 2015 World's Fair.
Our Food Futures Lab presented Seeds of Disruption: How Technology is Remaking the Future of Food at the Pavilion during our June 2015 research launch. Now the Lab and a group of IFTF Future for Good Fellows and affiliates is joining 70 leading global figures from food, art, fashion, business, architecture, and urbanism in Mentor Minds, a video series about innovation and mentorship.
Mentor Minds is a project of the USA Pavilion's Feeding the Accelerator, an innovation program for entrepreneurial teams to develop new opportunities in the whole food value chain, from farming to food distribution, nutrition and community building. The teams will create collaborative business models that bridge global platforms to local initiatives. The interviews constitute a form of virtual mentorship to the program’s selected entrepreneurial teams, and is also broadcast to a global community.
We'll post the IFTF videos as they are released over the next few weeks. The first one is with Rebecca Chesney, a research manager with our Food Futures Lab. Watch the entire series online and view the USA Pavilion's press release for more information.

About Feeding the Accelerator
Feeding the Accelerator is the USA Pavilion's innovation program at Milan EXPO 2015. It is curated by AtelierSlice with Microsoft, in collaboration with FedEx, PepsiCo, Illy, and Copernico. More than a traditional business accelerator, it is a group show exhibiting innovative directions as they are being developed, both feeding from and contributing to the rich context of the Expo's theme, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. Feeding the Accelerator creates synergies between an entire ecosystem of disciplines around food.
About IFTF's Food Futures Lab
IFTF’s Food Futures Lab identifies and catalyzes the innovations that have the potential to reinvent our global food system. We seek to understand the motivations, drivers, and impacts of food innovation, and to align the minds and resources shaping the future of food. We impart a shared understanding of how to take the long-term view—one that encompasses multiple scales, uncertainties, and radically different possibilities for the future of food. We develop foresight and insight that help all eaters take action toward a more resilient, equitable, and delicious future of food.
