Panel Picker Entry: Future Work Skills
We're in the midst of a historic transformation in the nature of work and structure of jobs. A host of technologies—from workplace automation to platforms for task coordination such as Uber and TaskRabbit—are transforming not just what people do to earn their livelihoods but, at a much deeper level, how we organize to create value.
Completely new archetypes of workers are emerging, like micro-taskers signed up on multiple platforms such as Lyft, Gigwalk, Upwork, etc., who don't work 8-5 jobs but rather stitch together tasks in flexible niches of time.
This talk envisions the skills people will need and how learning will transform to navigate this future of global labor arbitrage.
