"Gods, Places and Homes"

When I visited with a family here in Silicon Valley, it was interesting to see the mixture of religious symbols decorating their home. In one room, a traditional Christian cross is placed next to a Buddha. Across the hall, indigenous African religious figurines adorn a bookshelf. The couple is like many others in multicultural Silicon Valley; exposed to a global culture, they have incorporated a multiplicity of cultural symbols into their personal lives.
