Executive Director Marina Gorbis to speak at TEDxSoMa
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, <a href="http://www.ted.com/TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) a U.S. private nonprofit foundation devoted to bringing people together to share these ideas, began TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TED began in 1984 as a small conference of people from the worlds of Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED) and has since become an international phenomenon. More than 450 talks from TED's annual conferences are available online, with more added every week.
TED's conferences host some of the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, and challenges them to give the talk of their lives in just 18 minutes. Speakers such as Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Isabel Allende, and many many more have spread their ideas through TED.
TEDxSoMa, the Bay Area's first-ever independent and local program is a perfect venue for IFTF's Executive Director and Technologist, Marina Gorbis who will be giving a pecha kucha-style talk on our "digital selves" today, January 22 at the PariSoMa Innovation Loft in San Francisco at 4:30 pm. Other local thinkers included in the panel of speakers are David Sibbet of The Grove, Patrick Connolly of Obscura Digital, and many more.
Watch Marina's talk live via the justin.tv livestream and the video will be available shortly after.
