Does your HMO offer incentives for heathy living?
Several weeks ago, I wrote about a new player in the Health 2.0 world--ICYou, which serves as a YouTube-like repository of videos about health. Thanks to a post on the Health Care Blog, I found an interview with Neil Miller, the Executive Director of Product Development at Kaiser Permanente, the country's largest HMO. At about the 1:45 mark of the 3:11 video, filmed at the 3rd Annual Consumer-Centric Healthcare Congress in Washington, D.C., Miller answers the question, "What incentives are you offering consumers?" Fifty dollar American Express gift cards for completing an online health assessment and $100 for attending a health club 90 times in a year are part of Kaiser's current reward structure.
