TYF2016: The Future is a Rite of Passage

We live in a time of transitions. Between technological advancements and social revolutions, the next decade will bring massive changes to the way we work, learn, and play. To navigate this time of tumult and uncertainty, we’ll need new strategies for resilience and adaptation. We’ll need fresh perspectives to reframe our offerings for the global, hyper-connected world that’s emerging.

We’ll also need new stories to weave the fabric of our fragmented workplaces, markets, and communities. The 2016 Ten-Year Forecast research explored the changing horizon of worker identities, collaborative production, human settlements, and ecosystems of well-being from the perspective of the young people experiencing this change with fresh eyes. It deconstructed the platforms and social inventions that will inform the business processes of tomorrow, and investigated the new habits and behaviors that organizations of all size can begin tapping into today.

2016 Research Deliverables

TEN-YEAR STORY
Through a series of videos, ready-made presentation decks, and other rich media, we helped you explore and communicate the future trends that promise to transform our corporate and civil world over the next ten years. We introduced you to post-digital native perspectives on today’s youth, and envisioned the nascent rites of passage that will guide the personal and professional lives of everyone in the 21st century.

INTERFACES OF TRANSITION TOOLKIT
As we re-envisioned our companies, institutions, and community organizations for the consumption and work habits of the next generation, we need to interrogate our assumptions about the roles we play and how we play them. Our toolkit is designed as a standalone exercise to bring the power of foresight back to your organization, offering structure and process for anticipating long-term organizational change.

2016 Ten-Year Forecast Map of the Decade2016 MAP OF THE DECADE
The annual Map of the Decade gives you the thirty-thousand foot view of everything we cover in the Ten-Year Forecast research, and provides a quick snapshot for debriefing stakeholders and colleagues on the ten year business horizon.

The 2016 Map of the Decade explores the emerging landscape of the ten-year horizon through the lens of the young people who will be entering the workforce over the next decade. It is a guide to the forces that are shaping the future today and that will define the challenges and opportunities of the coming decade. In it, you'll meet Generation Transition and explore four extreme personas as a lens on the coming decade.

Stay tuned for the public release of the toolkit and videos later in 2017 ...
