Ubiquitous health monitoring in South Korea

Daegu, a city in South Korea, has announced plans for its 'U-Healthcare Service', which entains creating shirts with embedded sensors that will monitor the vital signs of 100 elderly people and people with chronic disease. Information from the shirts would be sent to medical centers and also available to the wearer for self-diagnosis. The Chosunilbo article provides an estimate for the service around $1.4 million.
