Equitable Futures Week in New Mexico & Atlanta, GA
Over the course of Equitable Futures Week (April 1-7), we will be highlighting some of nodes that have committed to action towards a more equitable 2030, along with the visions and actions that are tagged with #equitablefutures. These nodes are adding to the global conversation about equality and building a resource for action on these real-world issues.
From Colombia to Oakland, Sudan to Mexico—
You can register to be an official node and help us imagine what a more #EquitableFuture could look like.
ATL Speculative Futures
Atlanta, GA
I am most interested in exploring how creating a futures literate society might lead to more equitable futures. More specifically, I want to understand in what ways imagining futures might help overcome the fear of violence, destitution, hunger, deceit, irrelevance, and other undesirable "presents" in the unique context of Atlanta, a city with some of the most significant income inequality in the nation.
In 2030, a more Equitable Future will be unafraid.
We plan to use the Equitable Futures Toolkit as a tool to come together and learn to imagine new social fictions that light a pathway toward more fair, just, and equitable societies in 2030. We are hosting a Meet Up event, where we will develop new social fictions together.
Innovate + Educate
New Mexico, statewide!
We want to learn from other nodes how to impact our State to ensure equitable futures. We want to work across the State to advance IFTF Equitable Futures work. We also would like to elevate at Close It 2019 in October in Santa Fe.
In 2030, a more Equitable Future will be .... an ecosystem that has greatly expanded opportunities for working and learning, simultaneously. It will provide many more opportunities to young adults that they have in the current system.
