Coming Soon: Personal Neuroscience?

What do you get when you cross DIY with neuroscience?
We talk a lot about both of these phenomena at IFTF, but rarely together.
Beer van Geer has one answer to this question. His recent talk at the Quantified Self Amsterdam meetup is now the most popular talk among self-trackers worldwide.
Also known as Universal Media Man, Beer shows his award-winning Dagaz Project in the video above. His application uses the Neurosky EEG headset to quantify brainwaves during meditation on Mandala symbols. As you meditate you can see your progress in real-time - how close you are getting to optimal meditation states.
Imagine the implications of minute-by-minute brainscans as you go about your day. How would this new personal neuroscience impact your behaviors, family dynamics, romantic relationships, sleep, productivity at work, and so many other areas?
What if you could see your anxiety, your love, your depression, your inspiration? What if you learned how to get yourself into or out of those states by concentrating on your brainwaves? Biofeedback on steroids.
