Ayça K. Güralp
Research, Project, and Community Manager
As the Manager of IFTF Foresight Essentials, the educational branch of the Institute, Ayça oversees the administration of IFTF's porfolio of trainings, partnerships, and alumni engagements. This includes organizing all the Foresight Essentials trainings and Design Futures Trainings. She also produces the IFTF Foresight Talks webinars, the IFTF Foresight Essentials Newsletter, and the IFTF Certified Practitioner Meet-Ups, exclusive to IFTF training alumni. Ayça also assists the work of Distinguished Fellow and Research Director Dr. Lyn Jeffery, supporting many of the initiatives she leads.
Prior to IFTF, she worked on the administrative team at MapLight, a Berkeley-based nonprofit exposing money's influence on American politics. Before this, she worked in Istanbul coordinating Turkey's first peace and conflict studies graduate program.
Outside the Institute, Ayça enjoys being civically active. During the 2016 elections, she was a member of the steering committee for the ballot measure campaign that successfully passed publicly funded elections in Berkeley, CA.
Ayça received a double B.A. in International Studies and Anthropology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University.
Ayça currently lives in Oakland, CA, and her hometown is Raleigh, NC. Her passion is advancing ways communities can sustainably live to their full potential.
