Ashara is a cultural strategist, connector, convener and producer who honed her business skills in the non-profit sector working in all aspects of philanthropy including board development. As a consultant she works with start-ups and organizations to assess and build capacity for increased community engagement in their venture through the uses of creative arts practice, exhibition, and project management. A serial social entrepreneur and lifetime activist committed to social justice, Ashara has supported clients in the re/design of their brand and marketing strategies utilizing the principles of permaculture and human-centered design.
Most recently Ashara is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Impact Hub Oakland and is also the Director for Omi Gallery located in the Uptown District of Oakland, CA. She also participates in the Urban Futures Think Tank at YBCA, and holds Advisory Board Positions with KQED Arts, Just Global Partners, and City of Oakland Cultural Funding Program.
Ashara's combined passion for media, food, art and tech also inspires her to produce events such as Pecha Kucha Night Oakland, "Grits & Greens" and "Cocktails Included" and she is often invited to shared her vision for cultural equity at conferences such as SOCAP, SXSW, and the World Social Forum.
