Ben Oppenheim, IFTF Research AffiliateBen Oppenheim

Research Affiliate

Dr. Ben Oppenheim is a Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future, where he is a member of the Ten-Year Forecast team. Ben’s research sits at the intersection of international politics, security, and technology, and focuses on global public heath, conflict and post-conflict reconstruction, and aid and development policy.

Ben is a Senior Fellow and Visiting Scholar at New York University's Center on International Cooperation, and has held fellowships at Stanford University's Center on International Conflict and Negotiation, Cambridge University, and Uppsala University's Forum on Democracy, Peace, and Justice.

He received his PhD and MA from the University of California at Berkeley, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and his BA from Wesleyan University's College of Social Studies. He is on the advisory board of the Carbon War Room's Energy Efficiency operation, and the Inner Arts Initiative, a New York City-based organization supporting music and mindfulness in public life, and the advisory panel for the Congo Research Group's Congo Polling Project.
